*** Read a Letter from Fr. Dan about the recent death of his Father.
Fr. Daniel Maurer graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University in East Lansing in 1973. He joined the Canons Regular of the Order of the Holy Cross (Crosiers) in 1975 for novitiate and major seminary. He transferred in 1981 to the Augustinians of the Assumption (Assumptionists) and completed his priesthood studies at the Jesuit Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, earning a Masters of Divinity in 1983. From 1983 to 1988, Br. Daniel worked in various Assumptionist communities in the U.S., Mexico, and Chile. He joined Fr. Myron in Guam as Dean of Students and Spanish teacher at Fr. Duenas Memorial School. Two years later, the community moved to Modesto, California, where Br. Daniel again was dean and Spanish teacher. He was ordained on September 20, 1992, in Vladivostok in Most Holy Mother of God Church by Bishop Joseph Werth, SJ.
Fr. Dan comes to the States every year to speak about the Vladivostok mission.
