- Secure a valid passport. You can obtain a
passport application sheet from many travel agents and post offices.
You can also download an application and learn about fees and
requirements by going to the following website: http://travel.state.gov/passport_services.html.
Allow 6 weeks for processing. Since we need your passport number to
complete your visa application, you should have your passport in hand
at least 10 weeks before you intend to leave the U.S., and it must be
valid for 6 months after the trip commences.
-
Gather the information you will need for your visa.
Also, have three professional identical passport-size pictures made.
These can be black-and-white or color. You will need these to process your visa application.
-
Fill out the information sheet
and send or email it to our Minnesota office.
- Make travel arrangements from the
U.S. to Inchon, South Korea.
Please be aware that although travel is available every day from
the U.S. to Inchon, travel from Inchon to Vladivostok is available
only two days a week, on Tuesday and Saturday, so you need to be
careful when booking your dates. A temporary itinerary
can be planned and held by Korean Air (1-800-438-5000). We use
Barbara Garcia in Seattle, as she has helped many travelers to
Vladivostok.
barbarahouplingarcia@aaa.win.com or 425-369-2604 at AAA travel
agency.
- Be sure to contact your friends, church, and businesses for donations.
We hope you can assist us with two check-through bags at 70 pounds each filled
with help items. We can issue a tax statement for any donations. If you are
able to bring any of the items, you should inform us as soon as possible.
- Start packing!
Check our travel information page for a
list of items you can and cannot take with you.
